Goodnight, Irene

The Silver Chair's fantabulous daily podcast o' letters and culture is here: Goodnight, Irene! Every day we read poetry, have a little discussion, play a little independent music, and chat with authors well-known and not-at-all-well-know.

Goodnight, Irene is done by yours truly, the robust and opinionated owner of The Silver Chair, Joffre Swait. It's all about books n' stuff, but since it's my show, that also means that Goodnight, Irene is full-throated, poetic, Christian, tobaccoey, and big-bearded. (This liberal use of hyphens, by the way, will also show that I'm into Old English poetry.)

Guests on the show during our initial run will include science fiction writer F. Paul Wilson, theologian Marva Dawn, commentator Leon J. Podles, and the presidents of appreciation societies for G. K. Chesterton and Ogden Nash.

Bands and musicians featured include Super XX Man, Jacob Johnson, The Autumn Film, Yonder North, and more.

Check out our free samples below. Goodnight, Irene is the perfect solution to a mind-numbing day at work. Just remember to keep earpods at your desk.
